The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the continuation of the WAFU Zone B qualifying final between Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Nigeria’s Edo Queens FC will take place in Egypt on October 28 or 29, 2026.
In a letter addressed to both clubs, CAF referenced the WAFU Zone B qualifying final played on September 5, 2026, and subsequent decisions by the CAF Organising Committee for Women’s Football on September 26 and the CAF Appeal Board on October 16.
The governing body confirmed that the match would resume at the start of extra time, with the score tied at 2-2. The teams will play two 15-minute periods, with a penalty shoot-out to determine the winner if the scores remain level.
CAF also indicated that a different set of match officials would be appointed for the continuation of the fixture.
The decision follows the annulment of Edo Queens’ 4-1 penalty shoot-out victory after Ampem Darkoa successfully protested the outcome of the original encounter.
Meanwhile, Ampem Darkoa have been placed in Group B alongside Moroccan giants AS FAR, USFAS Bamako from Mali and Kawempe Muslim Ladies from Uganda for the tournament which is scheduled to be played in Egypt from November 1 to November 15, 2026.
The winner of the resumed fixture will represent WAFU Zone B at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt.
