Man United make unwanted history for English clubs in Europe

Manchester United are the first Premier League team to concede in the first two minutes in consecutive games in major European matches after another disastrous start against Como in Champions League action on Wednesday.

Nico Paz opened the scoring for the Serie A side in the second minute of their Champions League clash with Man United, continuing United's struggles on the European stage under manager Michael Carrick.

Anastasio Douvikas then doubled Como's goals before Paz struck again to complete his brace, with Jacobo Ramón knocking another in the net to give the hosts a 4-1 lead, really putting salt in United's wounds.

To save United from a goalless game, Joshua Zirkee scored in the 90+1 minute.

This early setback came eight days after Pablo Barrios scored just 50 seconds after kick-off during United's 2-0 defeat to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League.

The unwanted record piles excruciatingly more pressure on to Michael Carrick, who entered Wednesday's clash with a six-game winless run across all competitions.

United were also held to a 1-1 draw against Leeds United on Sunday, not adding many positives to their already poor run of results.
