Club Africain and TP Mazembe meet again with CAF Champions League group stage place at stake

Club Africain host TP Mazembe in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on Sunday, with the tie finely poised after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

The Tunisian side will welcome the Congolese club to the Olympic Stadium Hammadi Agrebi in Rades for the return match. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 France time and 19:00 in Lubumbashi. The game will begin at 18:00 in Tunisia and Kinshasa.

No broadcaster has been announced in France. Club Africain could make the match available via a free stream on its Lefri9i App, which can be downloaded from the Play Store, as well as through its website or YouTube channel. The club announced those possible viewing options on social media.

Viewers in Tunisia will be able to watch the match free-to-air on beIN Sports Mena 1. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, it will be shown on Canal+ Sport Afrique, although the channel number has yet to be confirmed.

Club Africain will qualify without a penalty shootout if they win or draw 0-0. The Clubistes are seeking a return to the CAF Champions League after last appearing in the competition during the 2018-2019 season.

TP Mazembe, meanwhile, must win or record a draw of 2-2 or higher to secure a place in the group stage. The Corbeaux are also attempting to return to the next phase after missing the previous edition.

The first leg in Lubumbashi ended level, with both goals arriving within two minutes. Kazema Baso put TP Mazembe ahead in the 38th minute before Alain Kante equalised in the 39th.

The teams also drew the last time they met in Rades. That match finished 0-0 in February 2019, following an emphatic 8-0 victory for TP Mazembe in the first leg.
