Kimi Antonelli wants to race alongside his father Marco in a GT3 car, with a possible opportunity next season if their schedules allow.
The Mercedes driver told Auto Motor und Sport that sharing an entry would fulfill a long-held family ambition. He has driven for his father’s team before, but the pair have not competed together as teammates.
Antonelli described watching onboard footage with his father as a child, a habit they retain today.
“Racing is always in our thoughts,” he said, translated from German.
The family also wants to establish an academy to help young drivers find opportunities. Antonelli emphasized that the route need not end in Formula 1: professional GT racing can offer a worthwhile career of its own.
Neither a race entry nor an academy launch has been confirmed. For now, the plans reflect the same enthusiasm that keeps father and son studying racing footage together.
A shared GT3 outing would give them something new to analyze—and rather less room to blame the other driver.
