Celtic’s transfer dealings last season were dismal, to say the least.
If Celtic fans thought the 2025 summer window was pretty bad, then it somehow got worse during the winter window.
That includes signing Joel Mvuka from FC Lorient on a six-month loan deal – it was seemingly supposed to be a permanent signing, but he failed a part of his medical, so it wasn’t meant to be.
In the end, Celtic fans would have hoped Mvuka didn’t sign because he was abject beyond belief, but he returned to Bodo/Glimt in the summer, and he has scored his first goal for the club.
Celtic signed Kasper Hogh from Bodo for a club-record transfer, so they were looking for some extra firepower this summer.
That’s why they turned to their former player, Mvuka, who previously spent two years at the Danish club.
After a slow start for Mvuka at Bodo, he earned his first start on Saturday against HamKam, playing on the left wing and finding the back of the net.
It’s Mvuka’s first senior goal in nearly two years. The last time he found the back of the net was for Lorient in December 2024.
Hopefully, the 23-year-old can find some light in his homeland because it just didn’t work out with the champions of Scotland.
Mvuka’s cameo against Rangers last season was one of the worst you will ever see. Thankfully, Celtic went on to win on penalties, and no longer have to do with his services ever again.
