Manchester United will have a number of injury concerns heading into their game against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

It's a crucial game for the Red Devils, with the pressure mounting on Michael Carrick following a disappointing start to the season.

There was plenty of talk of Carrick being sacked after they suffered a heavy defeat at home to Bournemouth, but GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that he will remain in charge for the game against Chelsea.

Every game will be scrutinised heavily for Carrick, so there's no doubt he will be desperate for three points in this game.

The United manager will also be praying that he can have some of his key stars return from injury, especially against a strong, attacking Chelsea side.

We've taken a look at the injury situations for some of Carrick's men ahead of the game.

Manuel Ugarte

Manuel Ugarte remains a long-term injury problem for the Red Devils.

The Uruguayan international underwent knee surgery back in July, and he's not expected to be back on the pitch any time soon.

Carrick rarely provides updates on Ugarte, with it being expected that he's not going to even return to training for a long while.

Luke Shaw

Back in the middle of October, Carrick confirmed it would be a few weeks until we see Luke Shaw back in action.

Manchester United were recently dealt a fresh injury blow as GIVEMESPORT sources confirmed that Benjamin Sesko is expected to be out until the new year.

Sesko has been struggling with a shin injury in recent months, and he's now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines to help him recover.

Speaking on Sesko, Carrick said:

"Yeah, unfortunately Ben looks like he's going to be out for a period of time. We're still not clear of exactly how long, but it's going to be for a longer period of time. It was the process, as I said to you before, we had to go through the process, a bit of a healing process for the injury to see how it would react and what direction to go with that. Even now we're still working through it. But it's unfortunately, obviously first and foremost, for Ben, for the kind of period that he's had, and tried to get through it and going through this again, and for us to not have him available is obviously a blow, but we'll try and get back, get him back as quick as we can."

On October 9th, Carrick confirmed that Patrick Dorgu looks set to be out for a number of weeks.

That could mean a return is approaching for Dorgu, but he wasn't involved in United's previous game against Bournemouth.

Kobbie Mainoo

A return for Kobbie Mainoo could be approaching after Carrick confirmed earlier in October that he would only be out for around 10 days.

It will be a big boost for Carrick if Mainoo could return to the squad against Chelsea, and he's provided an update on his fitness.

On Mainoo, Carrick said:

"Good news, Kobbie done a little bit of training yesterday, so he's back in and around the group, so that's obviously a positive."

Marcus Rashford hasn't been involved with United of late. The England international did return to training this week in a boost for Carrick and his squad.
