Blacks Power FC will host their upcoming Uganda Premier League (UPL) home matches at Bukedea Comprehensive School (BCS) Sports Complex following the cancellation of their hosting arrangement at Hoima City Stadium, according to Wabomba Sports reports.
The development follows the National Council of Sports (NCS)’s decision to cancel its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blacks Power and Kitara FC, which had permitted the two clubs to host their league matches at the Hoima-based facility.
The cancellation is intended to reserve Hoima City Stadium exclusively for international matches, forcing the two clubs to find alternative venues for their remaining home fixtures.
Blacks Power and Kitara had relocated their home matches to Hoima after their respective traditional grounds failed to meet the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) club licensing requirements.
For Blacks Power, the return to Bukedea represents a reunion with familiar territory. The club previously played in the district during its FUFA Big League days when it competed as Bukedea Town Council FC before rebranding to Blacks Power and relocating to Lira.
The move will also see BCS Sports Complex accommodate two Uganda Premier League clubs, with Kataka FC already using the facility for its home matches after Mbale Stadium failed to satisfy FUFA’s licensing standards.
Blacks Power will now look to make the most of their return to Bukedea as they continue their league campaign, while the change adds to the growing use of the BCS Sports Complex as a venue for top-flight football in Uganda.
After playing six games, Blacks Power lie seventh with nine points while Kitara is in the eighth position with eight points in four games.
