Jordan Ayew earns plaudits from Sheffield boss
Jordan Ayew played a crucial role in last Saturday’s game

Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has earned massive plaudits from Sheffield United manager, Chris Wilder, following his performance last Saturday.

The veteran attacker showed up for the Blades, who claimed a deserved 1-0 away victory at Bristol City at the Ashton Gate.

A sublime strike in the fifth minute by Ollie Arblaster from a distance sealed Sheffield United’s fourth win since September 1, with Jordan Ayew enjoying 69 minutes of action.

Wilder had this to say about Jordan's performance: “I’m delighted for Jordan ; his performance was really good,” Chris Wilder said after the game.

“He allowed us to go on press and get at them and allowed them to go wrong to us to break and control the game.”

Jordan signed for Sheffield United as a free agent after departing Leicester City, where he was a cult figure.

The 35-year-old has so far made three league appearances and one EFL Cup since joining the side.

Having accumulated 122 appearances with 33 goals, Jordan is one of the most capped players for the Black Stars, who are struggling in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
