According to reports in Italian media, the versatile Super Eagles winger, who has been playing as a right wing-back under coach Ruben Amorim, did not attend training at the Milanello due to muscle fatigue leading up to the session.

However, the 27-year-old could still travel with the Rossoneri when they travel to Austria to face Salzburg in their second clash of this season's tournament following their matchday one 2-0 defeat at home to Benfica.

The club medical staff is set to assess his condition before ruling on the level of his fitness and he is likely to start on the bench if he is included in the squad.

The Nigerian international has revived his career since his return from a loan move with English Premier League side Fulham last season, making seven appearances while providing two assists for the Italian giants.

He has featured in 77 matches for Milan in total, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists.
