TOTTENHAM misfit Tanguy Ndombele is currently on TRIAL with Russian team Rubin Kazan.
The French midfielder, who became Spurs’ record acquisition upon his transfer from Lyon for £63million in 2019, has been without a club since departing Nice this past summer.
However, Kazan, who are currently sitting 11th in the Russian Premier League, have offered a chance for him to revive his career.
On Instagram, the club announced: “He will be training with us and will undergo evaluation, after which a decision regarding his future will be made.”
Ndombele was regarded as one of Europe’s most promising midfielders when he transferred to Tottenham, yet he never met the high expectations, despite occasional flashes of talent.
His final match for the club—a FA Cup fixture against Morecambe in 2022—exemplified his disappointing tenure, as he was booed by his own fans for lacking urgency when substituted.

He made only 91 appearances for the North London side, netting ten goals, before being loaned out to Lyon, Napoli, and Galatasaray consecutively.
In a harsh criticism of the 27-year-old midfielder, none of these clubs exercised their options to sign him permanently.
In 2024, Tottenham opted to agree on a settlement to cover the last year of his £200,000-a-week contract.
Ndombele, now 29, returned to France with Nice but made just 38 appearances over two seasons, participating in only 13 matches last term.

It was revealed that Ndombele cost Tottenham over £1 million per game before his contract was terminated.
The Frenchman ultimately became one of the worst signings in Spurs’ history after joining for a club-record £54 million, escalating to £63 million with add-ons, from Lyon on a six-year deal in 2019.
