With numerous WWE tag-teams forming and breaking up in recent years, we often see former allies square off in the ring.
From confirmed championship matches to stars who have spoken about potentially interacting with names from their past, there are a number of former tandems who we could see share the ring again soon, but as opponents.
Here are three sets of former tag-team partners to face off against one another in WWE.
This match has actually been confirmed, with Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn to face off at Crown Jewel to determine the 2026 Men’s Crown Jewel Champion.
Zayn was notably the “Honorary Uce” of the Bloodline and teamed with Reigns on a number of occasions, most recently in the WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024 following a brief OG Bloodline reunion.
With Zayn holding the Undisputed WWE Title and Reigns being the World Heavyweight Champion, we will see this duo clash in singles action on November 7 for the first time since Elimination Chamber 2023.
With neither star having held the Crown Jewel Title before, a new champion is guaranteed for the upcoming show.
Speaking on Off The Ropes, Tatum Paxley stated that she hopes for an encounter with the current version of Lyra Valkyria, noting:
“I knew she had it in her… That’s why she had my heart. I just knew that she had this little quirk to her.
“I would love to have a long playdate with this Lyra Valkyria and get to know her, because I feel like it was in her this whole time, but I couldn’t get it out.
“Now that it’s out there, I would love to just have a long sit-down with her.”
While Paxley appears to want a friendly meeting, Lyra Valkyria hasn’t exactly been amicable with her former allies recently, previously attacking Bayley in an attempt to re-enter the championship victory.
With Tatum Paxley holding the Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Alexa Bliss, we could see Valkyria challenge her NXT tag partner for this title.
Grayson Waller and Austin Theory last wrestled together on the June 28, 2025 WWE Main Event episode, losing to the War Raiders.
Following numerous teases of dissension, “A-Town Down Under” ultimately didn’t have a dramatic break-up, with the duo quietly going their separate ways.
With Grayson Waller holding the NXT Championship and Austin Theory being a World Tag Team Champion alongside Bron Breakker, we could see either star challenge for the others’ title.
Waller and Theory have both taken shots at each other on WWE TV since the end of their partnership, so it does feel like we need to see this duo settle things in the ring at some point.
