Insider says Chelsea ready to dump failed wonderkid experiment in January
Insider says Chelsea ready to dump failed wonderkid experiment in January

Chelsea are ready to sell or loan Kendry Paez in January after the attacker continued to struggle in his time at the club.

In the least surprising news of the year, transfer insider Nicolo Schira is reporting that Kendry Paez is “ready to leave Chelsea” in the upcoming January transfer window.

There is no clarification on whether that would be a permanent or loan deal, but we’d imagine Chelsea would take either at this point. The wonderkid’s move to Stamford Bridge has turned into a complete disaster, with his most recent appearances coming for the club’s youth teams after successive failed loans at senior level.

Xabi Alonso doesn’t want him training with the first team, and there is clearly no faith that he can change his ways and fulfil his potential.

Paez future hazy after failed Chelsea move

It’s not clear where the Ecuador international’s career goes from here. He has the talent to be a top player, but seemingly not the attitude. That can always change, but Chelsea have given up on it and his prospects are fading fast.

In other news…

Nico Paz is going to be one of the hottest properties in the whole transfer market next summer, and Chelsea are very much in the race to sign him.

Alex Scott is also widely understood to be Chelsea’s next big target, but the midfielder’s boss still thinks he can get him to sign a new contract.

Mike Penders is preparing for his first Premier League start for Chelsea – you’d worry he’s nervous, but he doesn’t seem the type.
