Promotion hopefuls Kaiserslautern entertain Bochum on matchday 8, while bottom half clubs Eintracht Braunschweig and Greuther Fürth lock horns on Saturday afternoon.

Kaiserslautern vs. VfL Bochum

While there were plenty of thrilling games in the first three months of the 2. Bundesliga season, only 22 goals were scored in 14 games that involved either Kaiserslautern or Bochum so far in the seven rounds. The hosts drew goalless for the third time last weekend, while Bochum’s poor home form continued with a narrow defeat to Arminia Bielefeld.

In contrast to these, the last three head-to-head games between Kaiserslautern and Bochum all ended in 3-2 wins for the home teams. Kaiserslautern started the matchday in the sixth place, which is where they finished last term. Rösler’s men have only picked up seven points from as many games.

Predicted Lineups

Kaiserslautern: Krahl; Elvedi, Gyamfi, Rasmussen; Joly, Kunze, Sahin, Haas; Ritter ©, Skyttä; Tazemeta

Bochum: Horn ©; Klaiber, Steinwender, Mets, Wittek; Meyer, Pannewig; Steuckers, Miyoshi, Holtmann; Hofmann

Greuther Fürth vs. Eintracht Braunschweig

Heiko Vogel's side competed well against league leaders Hertha BSC on matchday 7, but they left empty-handed after conceding two second-half goals. The 4-3 victory in Cottbus remained Fürth's solitary win of the season, while Eintracht Braunschweig did end their winless run with a narrow victory over Holstein Kiel.

Braunschweig recorded a comeback victory over Fürth at home last season before the reverse fixture ended goalless at Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer.

Predicted Lineups

Fürth: Hellstern; Reich, Heuer, Blank, Dehm; Bansé, Will; Klaus ©, Appelkamp, Pohlmann; Sillah

Braunschweig: Hoffmann ©; Aydin, Ehlers, Koutsidis, Di Michele Sanchez; Flick; Di Benedetto, Marie; Opoku, Urbich, Sturm
