Siwelele FC mentor Godfrey Mosoetsa has cleared the air regarding the recent absence of experienced attacking midfielder Vincent Pule.
The 34-year-old former Orlando Pirates star has been noticeably missing from Mosoetsa’s matchday squad in their last two fixtures.
Pule is one of the senior figures at Siwelele, offering valuable experience to the squad since the club acquired its Betway Premiership status from SuperSport United in July 2025.
So far in the current campaign, the experienced midfielder has featured in seven matches across all competitions for the club, registering one goal.
However, Pule was sidelined for Siwelele’s back-to-back clashes against Polokwane City FC in the Betway Premiership and the Carling Knockout Cup. Despite his absence, Mosoetsa’s side managed to secure victory in both encounters.
Addressing Pule’s situation, Mosoetsa explained that the medical team recommended managing the player’s workload.
“You know, sometimes the term that we use—because we are not medical professionals—is that they [medical team] will tell you, ‘Let’s manage the player,'” said Mosoetsa after their 4-3 penalty shootout win over Polokwane City in the Carling Knockout Last 16 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday night.
“So, when managing the player, you don’t always know whether the player is injured or not. In my language, when a player is unable to play, it means he is injured.
“But sometimes they say, ‘No, let’s manage the player,’ because he is a player who puts in 100% effort. He has been doing sideline training and should be back soon, but when ‘soon’ means, I’m not too sure.”
Siwelele will be hoping to welcome the influential midfielder back to full action as their campaign progresses.
