PSL announces new kick-off times for Chiefs and Stellenbosch Cup matches

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced a change to the kick-off time for the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC, with the adjustment affecting Sunday’s football schedule.

The match, which was initially scheduled to kick off at 15:00 on Sunday, 8 November 2026, will now get underway at 18:00 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The PSL confirmed that the decision was made to accommodate Mamelodi Sundowns’ participation in the CAF Super Cup against Algeria’s USM Alger.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ CAF assignment prompts fixture adjustment

Sundowns are scheduled to face USM Alger in the 2026 CAF Super Cup final at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday afternoon.

The continental encounter is set to kick off at 15:00, prompting the PSL to adjust the timing of the Carling Knockout quarter-final programme.

In its announcement, the league confirmed that both Sunday’s Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final matches would kick off at 18:00.

“The Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final match between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC has been rescheduled, with kick-off moved from 15h00 to 18h00,” the PSL stated.

“The adjustment has been made in consideration of Sunday’s CAF Super Cup fixture involving Mamelodi Sundowns. Consequently, both Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final matches scheduled for Sunday will now kick off at 18h00.”

Updated Carling Knockout Cup fixtures

The revised schedule means Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC will now play at the same time as the other Sunday quarter-final between Stellenbosch FC and AmaZulu FC.

The Stellenbosch fixture was already scheduled for 18:00 at Danie Craven Stadium and will retain that kick-off time.

Teams battle for a place in the semi-finals

Kaizer Chiefs booked their place in the quarter-finals after defeating TS Galaxy 3-0 in the previous round, with Wandile Duba scoring a hat-trick.

Siwelele FC, meanwhile, progressed after eliminating Polokwane City through a penalty shootout. Stellenbosch FC will face AmaZulu in the other Sunday encounter, with both teams looking to secure a place in the last four.

The PSL has also wished Mamelodi Sundowns well ahead of their CAF Super Cup assignment, while extending its best wishes to all eight teams competing in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals.

Tickets: Supporters can purchase tickets for the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final matches online through Open Tickets. The advertised price is R100 per ticket.
