Ruben Amorim ready to ruin Arsenal transfer plan
Ruben Amorim ready to ruin Arsenal transfer plan

Former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is ready to ruin Arsenal’s pursuit of Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi, as per reports in Italy.

The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 11 games across all competitions so far this season and Amorim, who is now in charge of AC Milan, has earmarked him as a top target for next year, despite the summer acquisition of Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain.

That is according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that Amorim wants to bring Tresoldi to San Siro to compete with Ramos and youngster Francesco Camarda for a starting berth in the Milan squad.

Tresoldi, who is eligible for Italy and Germany, has also been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months and it’s understood that he is on their list of possible striker targets for 2027 amid the uncertain long-term future of Viktor Gyokeres.

Mikel Arteta’s side spent €65.8 million on Gyokeres last year, but he has now lost his place in the starting XI to Kai Havertz and rumours indicate that he is willing to explore a possible transfer in search of more regular game time.

Arsenal may look to rekindle their pursuit of Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez if they sanction the sale of Gyokeres next summer, but Tresoldi is regarded as a possible alternative, alongside Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi.

However, Milan are also keeping close tabs on his situation at Club Brugge, and it’s understood that Amorim is eager for the Serie A giants to beat Arsenal to a deal.

Nicolo Tresoldi expected to prioritise AC Milan move

While Arsenal are the reigning Premier League champions and are widely considered to be among the very best teams in Europe, the allure of playing for Milan could prove too strong for Tresoldi.

Speaking to reporters ahead of his hat-trick versus Inter Milan in the Champions League in midweek, the striker admitted: “For me, it's like a derby. Playing here at San Siro has always been my dream, and doing it against Inter is even better for me as an AC Milan supporter.

“It's a dream. I hope to make the most of these minutes and enjoy myself.”

Milan therefore hold a crucial advantage in the pursuit of Tresoldi’s signature, with Arsenal potentially set to miss out on a deal.
