Kelechi Iheanacho has scored his 18th goal in 15 games since his departure from Celtic.
The striker opted to switch Scotland for Turkey following a short spell with the Hoops last season. By the end of his time in Glasgow, he had more than proved his goalscoring credentials.
Despite Martin O’Neill’s desire to keep him at the club, he accepted the offer from second-tier Bursaspor in July — and his form since has been better than even he could’ve imagined.
Until last weekend, he had scored in every match he had appeared in this season. Back in action on Saturday, however, he ensured that his goal drought lasted only a single match.

Iheanacho has broken records since his move to Turkey, having registered the best goal record from a new signing in the nation’s history.
Away against Antalyaspor, Iheanacho opened the scoring with a first-time finish after a cutback from Amine Boutrah. For club and country, it’s his 18th goal of the campaign.
Bursa sit at the top of the table with ten wins, two draws and two defeats from 14 games. A place in the top two guarantees promotion to the top-flight, where they haven’t played since 2019.
Reports are already claiming that bigger Turkish sides are in the hunt for Iheanacho — speaking a fortnight ago, he reflected on the decision that led to his outrageous form.
He said: “To be honest, I don’t talk much about transfer negotiations. I’m just trying to focus on my football. The transfer talks were handled between agents and executives. Of course, I was aware of the transfer negotiations and everything.
“My agent told me that contact had been made and explained everything to me in detail. I was happy and said, ‘I think this is a good and interesting place.’
“We reviewed everything together and saw that it was a quite serious, concrete contract and situation. Then I said, ‘This is a good place to go; they have a good history and past.’ That’s why we said we could come here moving forward. We were a bit delayed, but in the end, we’re here and enjoying every moment.”
He continued on his future: “I am not going to say anything about the future until we can to the future. Right now, we are living in the moment, so we have to enjoy the moment now that we are living in it and make the most out of it and continue playing, winning, being at the top of the table, and scoring goals.”
