13-1: South Africa U15 Team Run Riot Against Anguilla to Bounce Back in Baku

South Africa’s national U15 team delivered a stunning performance at the inaugural FIFA U15 Boys World Cup and Festival, thrashing Anguilla 13-1 in their third group match in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Sunday.

The emphatic victory saw the young South Africans return to winning ways after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Kosovo in their previous outing.

The result also underlined the team’s attacking potential, with the South African youngsters producing an outstanding display to secure their second victory of the tournament.

Impressive Start for South Africa

South Africa began their campaign in convincing fashion, recording an 8-0 victory over the Maldives in their opening match.

However, their momentum was interrupted by Kosovo, who edged them 2-1 in the second group fixture. The defeat presented an opportunity for the young South Africans to respond, and they did so emphatically against Anguilla.

Scoring 13 goals in a single match represents a remarkable attacking display and will provide the squad with a significant confidence boost as the tournament progresses.

A Statement Victory in Baku

The 13-1 triumph sends a strong message about South Africa’s attacking capabilities at the competition, which brings together young footballers from different countries for an international development experience.

For the youngsters, the tournament offers an important opportunity to gain international exposure, test themselves against different playing styles and continue developing their skills on a global stage.

After three matches, South Africa have recorded two victories and one defeat, scoring 23 goals and conceding just three across those fixtures.

The emphatic win over Anguilla will give the team renewed confidence as they look to build on their performances and continue representing the country with pride in Baku.
