FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS STRIKER EFMAMJJASOND GONZÁLEZ FIRES HAT-TRICK IN CHINA AS NANTONG ZHIYUN SECURE ANOTHER VICTORY
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Efmamjjasond González is continuing to make headlines with his impressive goalscoring performances in China after producing a sensational hat-trick to inspire Nantong Zhiyun to a convincing 3-1 victory over Foshan Nanshi on Saturday, 7 November 2026.
The Colombian forward was undoubtedly the star of the afternoon, finding the back of the net three times to deliver another important victory for his Chinese League One employers.
González wasted little time announcing his intentions, opening the scoring in the 17th minute after being set up by Aldo Kalulu. The former Amakhosi attacker continued his devastating first-half display by doubling Nantong's advantage in the 31st minute, with Ruan Yang providing the assist.
However, Foshan Nanshi refused to surrender without a fight, with Yao Hui pulling one back in the 36th minute to give the visitors renewed hope before the interval.
The second half presented another opportunity for González to demonstrate his attacking quality, and he duly delivered. The striker completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute, finishing off an opportunity created by Wu Xingyu to restore Nantong Zhiyun's two-goal advantage and effectively put the contest beyond their opponents.
His three-goal contribution ensured that Nantong walked away with all three points following an impressive performance.
Beyond the individual brilliance, the result represents another significant boost for Nantong Zhiyun's ambitions in the Chinese League One campaign. The club's attacking performance was reflected in their dominance, registering 27 shots compared to Foshan's eight, while also enjoying 66 per cent possession.
González's latest heroics further underline his importance to the team. According to available 2026 league statistics, the Colombian has now registered 13 goals in 16 appearances for Nantong Zhiyun, establishing himself as the club's leading goalscorer.
For South African football supporters, particularly Kaizer Chiefs followers, his performances will certainly attract attention, considering his previous association with the Soweto giants.
Although his chapter in South Africa did not establish him as a household name, the striker appears to have found renewed confidence and consistency in Chinese football.
At 27, González is demonstrating that his attacking instincts remain sharp, and his latest hat-trick is another reminder of the qualities he possesses.
With Nantong Zhiyun continuing their push towards the top of the standings, the Colombian's goalscoring form could prove crucial as the campaign reaches its decisive stages.
