Former Orlando Pirates Coach Set to Earn R350,000 Monthly at New Club

Mandla Ncikazi is reportedly set to return to Golden Arrows as head coach following the departure of Pitso Dladla, with the Durban-based club hoping the experienced tactician can restore consistency after a disappointing run of results in the Betway Premiership.

Ncikazi recently parted ways with Orlando Pirates, where he served as assistant coach under Abdeslam Ouaddou. The Buccaneers confirmed his departure, explaining that he wanted to pursue a head coaching opportunity. His exit immediately fuelled speculation about a return to Golden Arrows, where he previously enjoyed considerable success.

The experienced coach worked with Arrows during the 2020/21 season, helping the club secure an impressive fourth-place finish in the Premier Soccer League. His familiarity with the club's environment and South African football is expected to work in his favour as the team looks to regain its competitive edge.

Reports suggest Ncikazi has agreed to a two-year contract worth approximately R350,000 per month. However, Golden Arrows have not officially confirmed the reported agreement or the financial details.

Dladla took charge after Manqoba Mngqithi left Arrows to join Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC. He initially made an encouraging impression, guiding the team through six matches without defeat. Arrows also recorded notable victories against Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8, raising expectations among supporters.

However, their form subsequently declined, with the team reportedly enduring five consecutive matches without a victory. The disappointing results increased pressure on the technical team and eventually led to a coaching change.

Ncikazi's anticipated return presents an opportunity for Golden Arrows to rebuild confidence, improve consistency and climb the league standings. His immediate challenge will be to restore the players' belief while implementing a tactical approach capable of delivering better results.

Although supporters will be eager to see an immediate improvement, Ncikazi's success will ultimately depend on performances on the pitch. His experience and previous achievements at the club could prove valuable as Golden Arrows seek to overcome their recent struggles.
