A 45-year-old footballer and petrol attendant from Makapanstad in North West is finally on the road to recovery after weeks of uncertainty and waiting for an operation to repair his broken leg.
Josiah Ndlovu’s recovery has been made possible with assistance from SunPower, after his injury left him facing a difficult period while waiting for the medical treatment he desperately needed.
Ndlovu, who works as a petrol attendant and enjoys playing football, suffered a broken leg that required surgery. However, the wait for an operation left him struggling to recover and uncertain about when he would receive the treatment necessary to help him get back on his feet.
For the 45-year-old, the injury meant more than just being unable to play football. It also disrupted his everyday life and affected his ability to carry out his usual responsibilities.
After weeks of waiting, a breakthrough finally came when he received assistance that enabled him to undergo a successful operation.
Ndlovu is now recovering at home, where he continues to heal from the injury. A photograph accompanying the report shows him seated on his couch with his injured leg in a cast, while a pair of crutches rests beside him.
Although his recovery is still ongoing, the successful surgery represents an important step towards regaining his mobility and returning to his normal routine.
The support from SunPower has brought renewed hope to Ndlovu and helped ease a difficult situation that had left him waiting for medical intervention.
His experience also highlights the challenges people can face when injuries require surgery and treatment is delayed. For individuals who depend on their physical ability to earn a living, an injury can have consequences that extend beyond their health.
As a petrol attendant, Ndlovu’s work requires him to be on his feet for much of the day. His broken leg has therefore presented an additional challenge, as he must allow himself enough time to heal before he can safely resume his usual duties.
Football, meanwhile, is another part of his life that he will have to put on hold while recovering.
For now, his priority is healing properly and following the necessary recovery process. The successful operation has given him a chance to focus on rehabilitation and gradually work towards regaining his independence.
Ndlovu’s story is a reminder of how assistance from organisations and community-minded people can make a meaningful difference when someone faces unexpected hardship.
After weeks of waiting, the Makapanstad resident can finally look ahead with hope as he continues his recovery at home.
While the road back to full mobility may take time, the operation marks a significant turning point in his journey.
