Jessica Motaung is set to remain an important figure within Kaizer Chiefs despite officially stepping down from her position as the club's marketing director, bringing an end to a significant chapter in her administrative career at the Soweto giants.
According to SABC Sport, Motaung confirmed her departure from the marketing director position but made it clear that she has no intention of leaving the club. She explained that she would continue serving on the Kaizer Chiefs board, allowing her to remain involved in the organisation's leadership and stay informed about its activities.
Her decision represents a notable leadership change at one of South Africa's biggest football institutions. Over the years, Motaung has played a major role in shaping the club's commercial identity, strengthening its relationship with supporters and expanding the Kaizer Chiefs brand.
As marketing director, she was heavily involved in sponsorship agreements, commercial partnerships and initiatives aimed at promoting Amakhosi both locally and internationally. Her contribution also extended to maintaining relationships with corporate partners and ensuring that the club remained one of the most recognisable brands in African football.
Kaizer Chiefs boast one of the largest supporter bases in South African football, making the marketing department an important part of the club's overall operations. The department plays a crucial role in managing sponsorships, supporter engagement and the organisation's public image.
Although Motaung is stepping away from her executive marketing responsibilities, her continued presence on the board means she will retain an influential position within the club's leadership structure.
Attention will now turn to how Kaizer Chiefs reorganise their marketing department and who will eventually take responsibility for the position she has vacated.
For Amakhosi supporters, the development marks an important administrative transition, although Motaung's decision to remain on the board ensures that her association with the club will continue.
