Paris Saint-Germain are set to host Barcelona at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night in a highly anticipated UEFA Champions League encounter that could prove a major test for Hansi Flick’s team.
Both clubs have enjoyed strong starts to the Champions League league phase, setting up an exciting showdown between two European heavyweights. PSG have already made a statement with an impressive victory over Manchester City, while Barcelona travel to Paris after winning all 11 of their matches this season.
Barcelona’s attacking performance has been one of their biggest strengths. Flick’s side have scored 48 goals this campaign, averaging more than four goals per match. With players such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha leading the attack, the Spanish giants have demonstrated their ability to trouble even the strongest defences.
However, Barcelona could face serious challenges at the back. Jules Koundé and Eric García are unavailable, while Andreas Christensen is also sidelined. Their absence leaves Flick with fewer defensive options ahead of the crucial European encounter.
PSG could look to take advantage of those weaknesses. Luis Enrique’s team have plenty of attacking quality, with Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué capable of creating dangerous opportunities.
With both sides enjoying impressive form, supporters can expect an entertaining contest in Paris. Barcelona will hope their attacking strength can compensate for their defensive concerns, but PSG have the quality to make the visitors work hard for a positive result.
