Golden Arrows head coach Pitso Dladla believes Nhlanhla Zwane has the potential to become a complete midfielder as the 26-year-old continues to impress with his performances in the 2026/27 season.
Zwane has emerged as one of the standout players at Abafana Bes’thende, attracting attention for his displays and contributions in midfield. His performances have earned praise from supporters and observers, with the midfielder gradually establishing himself as an important member of the squad.
The midfielder joined Golden Arrows from AmaTuks in 2023 and has since made 70 appearances for the club. His experience with the Durban-based side has helped him develop into an important player, while his recent performances have increased expectations surrounding his future.
Despite the growing excitement about Zwane's form, Dladla believes the midfielder still has areas of his game that need improvement. The coach has explained that the technical team is working hard to help him develop further rather than allowing the praise surrounding his performances to distract from his progress.
Dladla also pointed out that the coaching staff treats all players equally when assessing their performances and identifying areas where they can improve.
“It’s different from people from outside than us as coaches. We treat all players the same. Each and every player has areas to improve. Nhlanhla has his own areas to improve, but what I can tell you, we’re working very hard to improve them,” Dladla said.
The Arrows coach remains confident that Zwane can reach another level once he addresses the areas that require attention. However, he stressed that the club's development plans extend beyond the midfielder, with every player expected to continue working on their individual weaknesses.
“Once we’re done with this, he will become a complete player – but not only for him, this goes to each and every player at Arrows,” Dladla added.
Zwane has continued to make an impression during the current campaign, forming part of a midfield trio alongside Ayabulela Maxwele and Nqobeko Dlamini. The combination has attracted attention as Golden Arrows look to maintain competitive performances in the Betway Premiership.
At 26, Zwane has an opportunity to build on his progress and become an even more influential figure for the club. Consistency will be important as he looks to maintain his place in the team and continue improving under Dladla's guidance.
The coach's comments reflect Golden Arrows' commitment to developing players rather than focusing only on their current performances. Dladla will hope that Zwane continues to respond positively to the technical team's work and turns his potential into consistent performances throughout the season.
