Bafana Bafana forward Luther Singh continued his impressive performances for AEL Limassol after scoring the opening goal in the Cypriot side’s 2-0 victory over Omonia Aradippou on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
The South African international found the back of the net in the 61st minute, breaking the deadlock in a match that had remained goalless throughout the first half. His contribution helped AEL take control of the contest before teammate Chinedu Geoffrey doubled the advantage just two minutes later.
The quick succession of goals gave AEL a comfortable lead and helped the visitors secure all three points in the Cyprus top flight. Singh was substituted in the 84th minute after delivering another important contribution to his team’s attacking effort.
The goal adds to Singh’s growing importance at AEL Limassol, where he has continued to build his reputation since joining the Cypriot club in 2024. The winger enjoyed a productive 2025/26 campaign, scoring nine goals in 26 league appearances, and has continued to contribute during the current season.
Singh’s experience in European football has been an important part of his career. Before joining AEL, he represented several clubs abroad, gaining experience in different football environments and developing his attacking game.
His performances in Cyprus will also be of interest to South African supporters following Bafana Bafana. Singh has represented his country at senior level and previously made an impression in South Africa’s youth teams, including winning the Golden Boot at the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Consistent club performances could strengthen his case for further international opportunities, although selection will depend on the national team coach’s plans and the competition for places in the attacking positions.
For AEL, the victory over Omonia Aradippou provides another positive result in the league campaign. Singh’s ability to contribute goals from the wing gives the team an additional attacking option as it looks to maintain its progress.
The South African forward will now be hoping to build on this performance and continue delivering important contributions for his club. With regular football and goals, he has an opportunity to keep his name in the conversation surrounding Bafana Bafana selection.
