Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena has attracted widespread attention after his official Facebook page surpassed 50,000 followers shortly after its launch, highlighting his growing popularity among South African football supporters.

The 29-year-old midfielder reportedly gained nearly 14,000 followers within the first 24 hours of creating the page. His following continued to increase rapidly, with reports published on 15 October 2026 indicating that he had already crossed the 50,000-follower milestone.

The achievement reflects the strong connection Mokoena has built with football fans through his performances for Sundowns and the South African national team. His growing profile demonstrates how supporters are increasingly interested in following their favourite players beyond the football pitch.

Mokoena has established himself as one of South Africa's prominent midfielders, earning recognition for his strength, technical ability, passing range and powerful long-range shooting. His performances have made him an important figure in Sundowns' pursuit of domestic and continental success.

The midfielder joined Sundowns from SuperSport United in January 2022 and has continued to play a significant role at the Pretoria-based club.

His profile received another boost following Sundowns' 2-0 victory over Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Mokoena opened the scoring in the encounter, delivering an important contribution as his team secured the trophy.

He has also represented Bafana Bafana on major occasions, further strengthening his reputation among South African football supporters.

The launch of his official Facebook page provides another avenue for Mokoena to share updates and connect directly with his growing fan base. Social media has become an increasingly important platform for professional footballers to build their personal brands and engage with supporters.

Although the milestone is not a sporting achievement, surpassing 50,000 followers in such a short period highlights the considerable interest surrounding Mokoena's career.

As he continues representing Sundowns and Bafana Bafana, fans will be watching to see how much further his online popularity grows.
