Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Sundowns Get Transfer Boost Over PSL Star Nqaba Xulu

Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have received a potential transfer boost after Richards Bay head coach Dimitar Pantev suggested that striker Nqaba Xulu could soon attract interest from some of South Africa’s biggest football clubs.

Xulu has made an impressive start to the season, scoring five goals in eight appearances since joining Richards Bay from Milford FC. His performances have quickly established him as a forward to watch in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), with his growing influence attracting attention.

Speaking after Richards Bay’s 4-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Round of 16 on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Pantev praised the young striker’s potential and backed him to achieve greater success if he remains focused.

“He can go very far, if he keeps focus, ambition – I think that very soon, big teams will be coming for him,” Pantev said.

Despite the disappointing result against Sundowns, Xulu demonstrated his attacking qualities. His powerful effort forced goalkeeper Ronwen Williams into a save, allowing Lwandile Mabuya to score from the rebound and briefly level the match at 1-1.

The striker also appeared to score with a header from Siyabonga Nzama’s cross, but the effort was ruled out for offside. Replays suggested the decision might have been incorrect, potentially denying him another goal.

His performances could make him an attractive option for clubs seeking additional attacking firepower. Kaizer Chiefs may consider strengthening their forward line, while Orlando Pirates could also monitor his development as they assess their squad options.

Mamelodi Sundowns, despite having considerable attacking depth, could equally keep an eye on the striker’s progress.

However, no confirmed transfer bid or agreement has been announced. Any potential move would depend on Richards Bay’s willingness to sell and whether interested clubs can meet the club’s financial demands.

With five goals already recorded, Xulu will be eager to maintain his impressive form and attract further attention as the season progresses.
