Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is hopeful that winger Kamogelo Sebelebele will make a quick recovery from the injury he sustained during the MTN8 final, although the player remains unavailable for the club’s upcoming CAF Champions League fixture.
Sebelebele was forced off during the final, and the medical team is still assessing the extent of the injury. While there is optimism that the setback may not keep him out for an extended period, the winger has not yet received medical clearance to return to competitive action. As a result, he will miss Pirates’ next continental assignment.
The injury comes at a time when the Buccaneers are looking to maintain momentum after recording an impressive 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy. The match provided Ouaddou with an opportunity to assess his squad depth and give several players valuable minutes as the club manages a demanding schedule.
Despite the setback involving Sebelebele, Pirates received encouraging news from new signing Bulelani Sigomoshe. The defender, who joined the club from Milford FC, was handed a starting role at right-back against TS Galaxy and made an immediate impression.
Sigomoshe played for more than an hour and provided an assist as Pirates secured a convincing victory. His performance offered Ouaddou another option on the flank as the team prepares for both domestic and continental commitments.
Ouaddou praised the defender’s attitude and work ethic, explaining that his starting opportunity was a reward for his efforts in training. The coach also acknowledged the increased intensity and physical demands that come with moving from Milford FC to a club of Pirates’ stature.
Although Sigomoshe is still working towards the fitness levels required to complete a full 90 minutes, his promising debut has strengthened the squad’s depth.
Pirates will therefore have to balance Sebelebele’s absence with the continued integration of their new signing as they navigate a busy period of the season.
