Chippa United’s struggles continued in the Betway Premiership as Dan Malesela’s side suffered another damaging defeat, while Polokwane City delivered a major blow to AmaZulu’s unbeaten start to the season.

Chippa United endured another difficult afternoon after losing 4-1 to Sekhukhune United, extending their losing streak to three consecutive matches. The result further exposed the Eastern Cape outfit’s defensive weaknesses, with the team reportedly conceding 16 goals across their last four matches.

The heavy defeat raises serious concerns about Chippa’s ability to stop the rot as pressure mounts on Malesela to find solutions to his side’s alarming defensive problems.

Conceding goals at such a rate leaves little room for recovery, even when the team manages to find the back of the net. Chippa must now regroup quickly and improve their defensive organisation if they hope to turn their fortunes around in the coming fixtures.

Meanwhile, Polokwane City celebrated an important 2-1 victory over AmaZulu, handing Usuthu their first defeat of the season.

The result represents a significant statement from Polokwane City, who demonstrated their ability to challenge a team that had enjoyed an unbeaten start to the campaign.

For AmaZulu, the defeat serves as an early reminder of the competitive nature of the Premiership, where consistency remains crucial in the pursuit of positive results.

In the other fixture, Richards Bay and Golden Arrows played out a goalless draw, with neither side managing to find the breakthrough.

Although both teams avoided defeat, the stalemate meant they had to settle for a point apiece rather than securing maximum points.

Attention now turns to the upcoming clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Marumo Gallants, with supporters eagerly anticipating another opportunity to see how the Premiership standings develop.

With Chippa United struggling defensively, AmaZulu suffering their first setback and Polokwane City gaining momentum, the latest results have added another compelling chapter to the Betway Premiership season.

The challenge now is clear for Chippa: tighten up at the back, restore confidence and stop a worrying run of defeats before it becomes even more damaging.
