The appointment marks a significant step for both Mendu and the historic Leribe-based club. Known for his tactical intelligence and charismatic leadership during his playing days, Mendu now takes the reins of a team aiming to challenge for domestic honors and restore its former glory.

"I’m honored to join a club with such deep roots in Lesotho football," Mendu said during his official unveiling. "This is a new chapter, and I’m ready to bring energy, discipline, and attacking football to Linare."

Linare FC, one of the country’s oldest clubs, is banking on Mendu’s experience in South African top-flight football to revitalize its squad and build a more competitive side. The club finished mid-table last season and has been seeking a bold new direction.

Mendu’s coaching career has included youth development roles and assistant coaching stints, but this will be his first head coach role outside South Africa. Club management expressed confidence in his ability to inspire young talent and instill a winning mentality.

“We believe Jabulani brings the right vision and passion to take Linare forward,” said club chairman Thabo Ramakatsa.

Mendu will begin pre-season training next week, with player signings expected to follow. Supporters are hopeful his leadership will bring a renewed sense of ambition to the club.
