Sekhukhune United coach Papi Zothwane is determined to use his experience as a former Premier Soccer League and Bafana Bafana player to inspire young footballers to achieve success both on and off the pitch.
Zothwane wants to see talented youngsters progress to the national team, build successful careers abroad and use their achievements to improve the lives of their families. Drawing from his own playing experience, the coach hopes to help the next generation make the most of their opportunities in football.
Speaking about his ambitions for young players, Zothwane said: "I want to see them playing in the national team, making a difference in their lives, taking care of their families and making it abroad. Rele \[Mofokeng\] has done it, but unfortunately, us, with the talent we had, we couldn't."
His comments reflect his desire to see emerging South African footballers fulfil their potential and reach levels that some players of his generation were unable to achieve.
Zothwane pointed to Relebohile Mofokeng as an example of a young player who has made progress in his career. The coach hopes more youngsters will follow a similar path by working hard, developing their abilities and taking advantage of opportunities at club and international level.
Having experienced professional football himself, Zothwane understands the challenges players face as they attempt to establish themselves in the game. His experience could prove valuable in helping young talents understand the importance of discipline, consistency and making the right decisions throughout their careers.
Beyond sporting achievements, Zothwane also wants football to create opportunities for players to support their families and improve their circumstances. His vision extends beyond helping youngsters become successful professionals to ensuring they can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around them.
As he continues his work with Sekhukhune United, Zothwane will hope to contribute to the development of players capable of representing Bafana Bafana and competing abroad.
