Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has returned to training with the first-team squad, providing a welcome boost for supporters as the Soweto giants continue preparations for their upcoming fixtures.
The 26-year-old was spotted participating in the club’s training session despite ongoing reports linking him with a possible departure from Naturena. His return to the training group suggests that, for now, Ngcobo remains involved in the club’s plans while discussions surrounding his long-term future continue.
Ngcobo’s situation has attracted attention because of his strong connection with Kaizer Chiefs. The midfielder progressed through the club’s development structures before earning his place in the senior team, making his journey a notable example of an academy player successfully breaking into the first team.
Over the years, Ngcobo has been recognised for his technical ability, vision and composure in possession. His versatility has also allowed him to operate in different midfield positions, giving Chiefs another option when building attacks and controlling matches.
Neither Kaizer Chiefs nor Ngcobo has officially confirmed that the player is set to leave the club. His presence in training therefore provides some reassurance to supporters who have been closely monitoring speculation surrounding his future
The midfielder is also approaching a significant personal milestone. His next competitive appearance for Amakhosi would reportedly be his 130th match for the club. To date, Ngcobo has registered eight goals and three assists during his Chiefs career.
While those numbers do not fully capture his contribution, his experience and familiarity with the club have made him a recognisable figure among the Amakhosi faithful.
For now, Ngcobo remains part of the training group as Chiefs prepare for their next assignments. Whether he continues at Naturena beyond the current period, however, will become clearer as the club’s plans and the transfer situation develop.
