Ouaddou Breaks Silence on Tito Maswanganyi as Orlando Pirates Return Speculation Grows

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has reportedly reacted to questions surrounding Tito Maswanganyi's uncertain future, sparking speculation about a possible return to the Soweto giants following reports that his contract with Bahrain-based Al-Khaldiya SC has been terminated.

The 24-year-old midfielder's situation has attracted attention among South African football supporters, particularly those interested in the possibility of seeing him return to the Buccaneers. Maswanganyi previously represented Pirates, where his technical ability, creativity and attacking contributions made him a familiar figure to the club's supporters.

According to a report published by Sports with Daily News on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Ouaddou was asked whether he would consider welcoming Maswanganyi back to the Pirates squad.

The Moroccan coach reportedly emphasised the importance of discipline, professionalism and respect for the technical team, suggesting that individual talent must be accompanied by the right attitude to succeed at the highest level.

Ouaddou allegedly laughed and left the question about Maswanganyi's potential return unanswered. His reaction has generated further discussion, although it does not confirm whether Pirates are interested in bringing the midfielder back.

The reported termination of Maswanganyi's contract with Al-Khaldiya has also raised questions about his next career move. Returning to South Africa could provide an opportunity to regain momentum in familiar surroundings, while another move abroad could offer a fresh challenge.

For Pirates, any potential reunion would depend on the club's recruitment plans, the midfielder's contractual position and whether both parties are interested in reaching an agreement.

Supporters will undoubtedly watch developments closely as uncertainty surrounding the player's future continues.

However, neither a return to Pirates nor the reported contract termination should be treated as officially confirmed without statements from the parties involved. For now, Maswanganyi's next destination remains uncertain.
