Relebohile Mofokeng Makes Bold Statement About Mfundo Vilakazi as European Dream Comes Into Focus

Kaizer Chiefs youngster Mfundo Vilakazi has become the subject of fresh football discussion after a report claimed that Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng made a bold statement about the talented attacking midfielder, popularly known as ‘Obrigado’.

The story, published by Sports with Daily News on Sunday, 25 October 2026, has drawn attention to the growing recognition of young South African footballers and the possibility of them making their mark on the European stage.

Vilakazi, one of the exciting young talents associated with Kaizer Chiefs, has attracted considerable interest from supporters who believe he possesses the technical ability and creativity to become an important figure in South African football.

Mofokeng, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the country's most closely watched young footballers, with his performances for Orlando Pirates earning him recognition among fans who follow the development of South African talent.

The headline of the report suggests that Mofokeng made a significant statement about Vilakazi's potential, while also hinting at the possibility of a future move to European football.

However, the precise wording of Mofokeng's alleged remarks has not been independently verified, and it would be premature to conclude that he predicted a European transfer for the Chiefs youngster.

Nevertheless, the reported comments have brought renewed attention to the potential of Vilakazi, whose development will be closely monitored as he continues his football journey.

For a young player, recognition from fellow professionals can be encouraging. However, consistent performances, discipline, tactical development and regular competitive football will be essential if Vilakazi is to fulfil his potential.

European football remains an ambition for many talented South African players. Mofokeng himself has frequently featured in discussions about the possibility of South African youngsters pursuing opportunities abroad.

For Vilakazi, any future move would depend on his performances, development and the opportunities that arise during his career.

At this stage, there is no verified confirmation that a European club has made an offer for Vilakazi or that a transfer is imminent.
