What Yeye Just Did In Botswana Leaves Kaizer Chiefs Fans In Utter Disbelief

Three Wins in a Row! Former Kaizer Chiefs Star Yeye Makes Flying Start in Botswana

South African football legend Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane is enjoying an impressive start to his coaching career at Mochudi Centre Chiefs after guiding the Botswana outfit to three consecutive victories and securing a place in the African Hero Top 8 semi-finals.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder continued his excellent run over the weekend as Mochudi Centre Chiefs defeated Morupule Wanderers 3-1 at the National Stadium in Gaborone. The result confirmed their progression to the last four of the prestigious knockout competition and further strengthened the growing confidence surrounding Letsholonyane's leadership.

The victory marks another important milestone for the South African tactician, who has quickly made his presence felt since taking charge of the Botswana club in September 2026. His arrival has brought renewed optimism to a team determined to compete for silverware and establish itself among the country's leading football clubs.

Mochudi Centre Chiefs started the quarter-final encounter positively and broke the deadlock in the 26th minute through former Cape Town Spurs striker Mpho Kgaswane. The forward gave his side a deserved advantage before the teams headed into the half-time break.

Chiefs maintained their momentum after the restart and doubled their lead in the 70th minute when Kelvin Ndebelele found the back of the net. Kgaswane turned provider on this occasion, delivering the assist that helped his team move closer to securing qualification.

Morupule Wanderers managed to pull a goal back later in the contest, briefly raising hopes of a comeback. However, Mochudi Centre Chiefs remained composed under pressure, with Argentine forward Nicolas Melgajero scoring in the 87th minute to seal a convincing 3-1 victory.

The result extends Letsholonyane's winning start, following consecutive victories in the Botswana Premier League. His ability to maintain that momentum across different competitions represents an encouraging development for the club as the season progresses.

For the former Bafana Bafana international, the challenge now is to ensure that the early success develops into something more substantial. While three victories provide a promising foundation, expectations will increase as Mochudi Centre Chiefs pursue domestic honours.

The club's immediate attention will turn to Wednesday's Botswana Premier League clash against Jwaneng Galaxy, another important test of their growing ambitions.

With confidence building and a place in the African Hero Top 8 semi-finals secured, Letsholonyane has given Mochudi Centre Chiefs supporters plenty of reasons to believe that a successful campaign could be within reach.
