Before facing USM Alger in the CAF Super Cup final, which is scheduled to take place on November 8 in South Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns will be responsible for a series of hosting responsibilities. The competition's arrangements will cover everything from security and training facilities to ticketing and broadcasting.
On October 16, both clubs were required to submit their preliminary player lists to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The deadline for this submission was October 16. With the final drawing near, the requirements detail the preparations that are anticipated from Sundowns, which is the club that will be hosting the competition, as well as from the South African football authorities.
Three days prior to the match, Sundowns is required to hand over the stadium as well as the training facilities into the hands of CAF. There should also be two training pitches available, each of which should have the same playing surface as the venue for the match. One of these pitches should be set aside specifically for the Algerian team. It is the intention of these provisions to provide both teams with suitable conditions as they prepare for the final of the continental competition.
The accommodations and transportation are also included in the arrangements. It is anticipated that Sundowns will be responsible for arranging lodging for approximately 18 of the CAF officials, which will include referees and VAR personnel. On the other hand, the CAF will be in charge of arranging lodging for its official delegations in either Johannesburg or Pretoria. It is also required that the South African club provide transportation for at least fifty members of the United States Military Alger delegation, as well as a vehicle for the leader of the delegation. Both the South African Football Association (SAFA) and Sundowns will be involved in the planning of security measures. Additionally, both organizations will be required to present their proposed plans and personnel numbers to the CAF for approval. Match tickets are required to be available five days prior to the start of the game, and supporters of USM Alger are scheduled to receive an allocation that is equivalent to five percent of the stadium's capacity, which is located on the eastern side of the stadium.
Among the noteworthy financial provisions is the provision that stipulates that Sundowns will receive all of the revenue that is generated from the match. Each club is required to provide five signed jerseys for the purposes of advertising, and the CAF will be responsible for supplying the official match balls. A maximum of three days prior to the final, only advertising that has been authorized by the CAF will be permitted.
It is also anticipated that the event will receive extensive production coverage, with a total of 28 cameras being planned to be installed within the stadium throughout the event. In addition to the presentation of a Man of the Match award, the commercial department of the CAF will be responsible for coordinating promotional activities. Despite the fact that the CAF has not yet disclosed who will hold the official television rights, it is anticipated that the final will be broadcast all over the world.
The scale of the logistical and commercial requirements that are associated with hosting a continental final is demonstrated by the preparation being made. As of right now, Sundowns and USM Alger will be focusing their attention on the competition that will take place on November 8; additional broadcast information is anticipated from CAF.
