TITUS DELIVERS WHEN IT MATTERS MOST: South African Star Helps Moroccan Giants Seal CAFCL Group-Stage

Devin Titus Shines as Maghreb Fes Reach CAF Champions League Group Stage

South African attacker Devin Titus played a key role as Moroccan champions Maghreb Fes defeated ASEC Mimosas 2-1 in the second leg of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round tie on Sunday night, securing qualification for the group stages with a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Titus continued to make his presence felt on the continental stage, contributing to Maghreb Fes' successful campaign against the Ivorian outfit. The South African attacker had already made an impact in the first leg, providing an assist in the 1-1 draw between the two sides.

With the tie finely balanced heading into the return fixture, Maghreb Fes knew they needed a strong performance to overcome ASEC Mimosas and book their place in the next phase of Africa's premier club competition.

The Moroccan side delivered when it mattered most, securing a 2-1 victory on the night to advance 3-2 on aggregate. Their triumph marked an important achievement for the club as they prepare to test themselves against some of the continent's strongest teams in the group stage.

For Titus, the qualification represents another valuable milestone in his career as he continues to gain experience in African club football.

The former Stellenbosch FC attacker has an opportunity to raise his profile through performances in the CAF Champions League, where consistent displays against top opposition could further strengthen his reputation.

His contribution across both legs against ASEC Mimosas underlines the importance of South African players making an impact beyond their domestic league.

Titus will now turn his attention to the challenges awaiting Maghreb Fes in the group stage, where the level of competition is expected to increase significantly.

Meanwhile, fellow South African forward Tshegofatso Mabasa was included in the matchday squad for the encounter but began the match on the bench.

Although Mabasa did not start, his presence in the squad added another South African connection to Maghreb Fes' continental campaign.

With qualification secured, the Moroccan champions can now focus on preparing for the group stage, where they will face a tougher examination of their ambitions.

For South African football supporters, Titus' progress will be worth monitoring as the competition unfolds. His performances could provide another example of local talent making its mark on the continental stage.
