LSundowns Star Fights for His Chance as Cardoso Breaks Silence on Saleng's Return

South Africa – Monnapule Saleng has been reunited with the first team after a lengthy period of training separately from his teammates, according to Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso.

The Portuguese coach announced that the club would be giving the gifted winger another shot after he showed dedication, self-control, and adherence to team policy while on the bench.

Saleng, who had previously been benched due to disciplinary issues, had joined Sundowns from Orlando Pirates, as per Cardoso's earlier remarks. The former Pirates star, though, is back in training with the rest of his teammates and made the trip to last weekend's MTN8 final with Sundowns.

Supporters are eager to see the attacking midfielder make an impact for the Tshwane giants and regain his place in the team since his return.

The Reasons Sundowns Rethought Saleng's Situation, According to Cardoso. The club's leadership, sporting director, players, and captains were all involved in the decision to reintegrate Saleng, as Cardoso revealed.

The coach clarified that the club's goal was to find a solution that would benefit the player and the club, rather than letting the situation ruin the player's future.

"As I mentioned before, our club—including the sporting director, players, captains, and chairman—decided to provide Saleng and ourselves with a chance to progress positively," Cardoso stated.

He went on to say that Saleng maintained the professionalism befitting a club vying for major titles during his individual training period.

Cardoso claims that the winger has kept that mentality since getting back with the squad, and that his dedication in training has been an inspiration to the coaching staff.

The Battle for Saleng's Position Is Far From Over.

Even though Cardoso believes in Saleng's potential with Sundowns, he made it plain that just because the player is back in training doesn't mean he'll see action right away.

Sundowns have a number of talented players to choose from this season, which means there will be a lot of competition for starting roles and that training consistently will be crucial.

I have faith that his moment will come. "I am unsure of the exact time," Cardoso said. The coach also brought up Tsiki Ntsabeleng and other players vying for opportunities, emphasizing that everyone needs to show their worth before being named to the team that plays on game day.

As they work to mend their relationship and get the player back on track, Cardoso has stressed the importance of trust between himself and Saleng.Saleng Receives Message of Support from Cardoso

Cardoso showed his public support for the returning winger Saleng by embracing him after Sundowns' MTN8 final victory. The embrace went viral.

According to the coach, Sundowns did the right thing by allowing the player a second chance to revive his career with the club.

The following obstacle for Saleng will be to convert his return to training into significant playing time. Cardoso has not said when he plans to return to competitive play, but his remarks have left no stone unturned.

The former Pirates star has been given a second chance, and Sundowns fans will be watching to see if he makes the most of it and helps the club achieve its goals this season.
