Kaizer Chiefs captain Brandon Petersen has made his ambitions clear ahead of Saturday's highly anticipated Soweto Derby, insisting that Amakhosi are focused on securing maximum points against their fierce rivals, Orlando Pirates.

The upcoming clash is one of the biggest events on the South African football calendar, with supporters from both sides eagerly waiting to witness another chapter in the historic rivalry between the two Soweto giants.

For Petersen and his teammates, the match presents an opportunity to deliver a strong performance and reward their loyal supporters with a memorable victory. Beating Pirates would also provide Chiefs with a valuable boost as they continue their campaign.

The Chiefs captain's message reflects the importance of approaching the derby with determination, discipline and the right mentality. Although the occasion carries enormous emotional significance for supporters, the players will need to remain focused on their tactical responsibilities and take advantage of their scoring opportunities.

Facing Orlando Pirates will be a demanding task, given the quality and competitive intensity that have come to define encounters between the two clubs. Nevertheless, Amakhosi will be determined to prove themselves against their biggest rivals and secure a result that could strengthen their confidence.

Petersen also understands the responsibility that comes with captaining a club of Kaizer Chiefs' stature. As the team's leader, he will be expected to help his teammates remain composed and focused during a match where pressure and expectations are always high.

For Chiefs supporters, a victory would mean much more than collecting three league points. It would deliver bragging rights, strengthen the team's confidence and provide an opportunity to celebrate success against their bitter rivals.

However, the result will ultimately depend on what happens on the pitch. Both teams are expected to fight for control of the game, create scoring chances and punish any defensive mistakes made by their opponents.

With anticipation building ahead of kick-off, Petersen has made one thing clear: Kaizer Chiefs are approaching the Soweto Derby with victory as their main objective.

Whether the captain can lead Amakhosi to the desired result remains to be seen, but Saturday's encounter promises another intense contest between two of South African football's most recognisable clubs.
