African Stars FC head coach, Gerald Köther, admits that the team needs to respect the South African champions, Orlando Pirates, but not be afraid of them.
The coach who led African Stars to this round, Ronnie Kanalelo, left the team less than a month ago to sign a two year contract with Marumo Gallants.
Over the course of his more than 20 years in Namibian football, the 46 year old has coached several local clubs as well as the U17 national team.
But his first test against Pirates will take place in the first leg of the CAFCL second preliminary round.
Before departing Namibia for Botswana, Köther told New Era Live that while they should respect pirates, they should not be afraid of them; instead, they should always try to make them uncomfortable.
"The boys are working hard, the mindset is in the right place, we did some positive work back in Windhoek, and we are continuing the work here, and preparation is going very well," Köther stated.
"We must respect the opponent, but we must not allow ourselves to be afraid.
"We must ensure that we are organized in our defensive structure, keep the pirates on their toes, and force them to defend."
