Mandla Ncikazi Linked With Shock Kaizer Chiefs Move After Orlando Pirates Exit

Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Kaizer Chiefs following his departure from the Buccaneers, sparking speculation about possible changes to the technical team at Naturena.

According to reports published by Sports With Daily News on October 22, 2026, Ncikazi has allegedly held discussions with representatives of Amakhosi about a possible opportunity at the club. However, the reported meeting has not been independently confirmed, and neither party has officially announced an agreement.

Ncikazi's potential arrival would attract considerable attention because of the fierce rivalry between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. The experienced coach spent several seasons working with Pirates, contributing to the club's domestic success and campaigns in continental competitions.

His coaching experience could make him an attractive option for Chiefs as the Soweto giants continue their efforts to build a competitive squad and improve consistency. Nevertheless, the nature of the alleged discussions remains unclear, with speculation ranging from a technical department position to a possible coaching appointment.

The reports have also raised questions about the future of Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz. However, there is currently no confirmed information suggesting that the club intends to dismiss Da Cruz or appoint Ncikazi as his replacement.

If the reported discussions lead to an appointment, Chiefs supporters will be eager to understand how Ncikazi would fit into the club's existing technical structure and whether his arrival would signal a broader change in the club's footballing plans.

For now, the situation remains uncertain. Until Kaizer Chiefs or Ncikazi provides an official statement, the reported talks should be treated as speculation rather than confirmation of an impending appointment.

The coming weeks could provide greater clarity on whether the former Pirates assistant coach is being considered for a role at Naturena.
