Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have learned the teams they will face at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League following the official group-stage draw held in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday.
The South African champions have been assigned to Group A, where they will compete against Egyptian club FC Masar, Cameroon’s Lekie Football Girls and Morocco’s FUS Rabat. The draw presents Sundowns Ladies with an opportunity to re-establish themselves among Africa’s leading women’s football clubs after failing to qualify for last season’s tournament.
Their journey will begin on 1 November when they take on hosts FC Masar. The opening encounter could prove important in setting the tone for their campaign, particularly as the Egyptian side will benefit from playing in front of their home supporters.
Sundowns Ladies will return to action on 4 November to face Lekie Football Girls. The Cameroonian representatives are preparing for their first appearance in the competition, making them an unfamiliar opponent for the experienced South African side.
Their final Group A fixture is scheduled for 7 November against FUS Rabat. The result could prove decisive in determining which clubs advance to the knockout rounds, depending on how the earlier matches unfold.
Group B includes defending champions ASFAR of Morocco, USFAS Bamako from Mali and Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies. Kawempe Muslim Ladies will also be making their debut in the tournament. The remaining position in the group will be decided through the WAFU B qualifying contest between Ampem Darkoa and Edo Queens.
The sixth edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League will run from 1 to 15 November in Egypt, bringing together top women's clubs from different African regions to compete for continental honours.
