Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune has urged the Premier League giants to pursue a move for England striker Harry Kane, arguing that the experienced forward could address the club’s attacking needs.
Speaking to Boylesports, Fortune acknowledged that Kane is no longer a young player but believes his achievements and proven quality make him a worthwhile target for United.
“He’s not young, but given what he's achieved, Man Utd should go and sign Harry Kane as soon as possible, whatever it takes. He is exactly what they need,” Fortune said.
Kane, who has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, has built a reputation for his goalscoring ability, intelligent movement and capacity to contribute to his team’s overall play.
Fortune’s recommendation comes amid ongoing discussions about the type of attacking reinforcement United need to improve their competitiveness. A striker with Kane’s experience could offer immediate quality, leadership and a reliable source of goals.
However, securing the forward’s services could prove difficult. Any potential transfer would depend on his contractual situation, the financial demands involved and whether his current club would consider allowing him to leave.
Kane’s age could also influence United’s long-term planning, particularly if the club prioritises younger players with greater resale value.
Although Fortune is convinced that Kane would be an ideal signing, whether United pursue the England captain remains uncertain. For now, the suggestion adds to the debate over how the club should strengthen its attack.
