AmaZulu Striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya Attracts Overseas Interest! Agent Drops Major Hint About His Future
AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about players in South African football, and his impressive performances have started attracting attention beyond the borders of the country.
The Zimbabwean forward has enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2026/27 campaign, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous attackers in the Betway Premiership. His goalscoring form has not only strengthened AmaZulu’s attacking options but has also raised questions about how long the Durban-based club will be able to keep hold of him.
Ngwenya’s representative, experienced football agent Mike Makaab, has now spoken about the striker’s future, suggesting that continued performances at his current level could open the door to opportunities outside South Africa.
According to Makaab, there is already reason to believe that serious interest could emerge if the forward maintains his impressive form throughout the campaign.
Agent Makes Major Admission About Ngwenya
Speaking to KickOff, Makaab explained that confidence has played an important role in Ngwenya’s development as a goalscorer.
“I think all good strikers thrive on confidence, and when they start scoring goals, they start believing they can do really well for a period of time. The most important thing is that it’s got to continue,” Makaab said.
The agent also believes that Ngwenya must maintain his current standards over the remainder of the season if he wants to attract serious attention from clubs outside the country.
“The form that he has shown now, over the past five months, he has to take into the rest of the season. If he continues in this way, there is little doubt in my mind that there will be serious interest in him going forward. Interest outside the borders of South Africa,” he added.
Those comments will certainly attract attention from AmaZulu supporters, particularly with the striker becoming increasingly important to Arthur Zwane’s attacking plans.
Why Ngwenya Is Attracting Attention
Ngwenya’s numbers explain why his name is generating so much discussion.
The forward has scored 10 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions this season, already surpassing the seven league goals he registered in 19 appearances during his debut campaign with Usuthu.
Makaab has also highlighted the striker’s physical qualities, aggression and ability to operate in different attacking positions.
He described Ngwenya as a typical penalty-box number nine who can play through the channels, hold up the ball with his back to goal and attack defenders when facing forward.
His strength and fearless approach inside the penalty area are qualities that could make him attractive to clubs looking for a powerful centre-forward.
AmaZulu Must Protect Their Investment
Despite the growing attention, Makaab has urged Ngwenya to remain humble, continue working hard and avoid becoming distracted by speculation about his future.
He believes the striker should concentrate on improving his overall game while helping AmaZulu achieve their objectives.
