Mbekezeli Mbokazi has reportedly been included in Pitso Mosimane’s preliminary squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Kenya, raising hopes of another opportunity to represent South Africa at international level.

The young defender, who has attracted attention through his performances, is among the players being considered as Mosimane prepares his team for the important fixtures.

Mbokazi’s inclusion in the preliminary selection represents a potential opportunity for the defender to strengthen his position in the national team setup. However, being named in the initial squad does not guarantee a place in the final team, as the coaching staff will still need to make their final selections before the matches.

The upcoming qualifiers against Kenya are expected to be important for South Africa as the team seeks to maintain its ambitions of competing at the continental showpiece.

Mosimane will be assessing the available players, their current form and their suitability for the tactical demands of the encounters before confirming his final squad.

For Mbokazi, the opportunity to be considered for selection could provide further motivation to continue developing and delivering consistent performances at club level.

South African supporters will be watching closely to see whether the defender survives the final selection process and earns a place in the team for the matches against Kenya.

Further details regarding the complete squad and match arrangements are expected to clarify the final composition of the national team.
