Rennes’ home Europa League game against Olympiacos has been rescheduled due to civil unrest in France, UEFA have announced. The game was initially set to be played on Thursday, November 5. However, unions have called for a general strike this day, and massive demonstrations are expected to take place in the country’s largest cities. French authorities alerted UEFA that they were unable to guarantee the required safety and security conditions for Rennes v Olympiacos.

The game has then been moved to the day before – Wednesday, November 4th. Kick-off will be at 4:30 pm. Rennes are currently unbeaten in the Europa League. Last week, they drew 2-2 at Juventus’ Allianz Stadium. Franck Haise’s players are flying high in Ligue 1. They are in second place, a single point behind league leaders PSG. They play OGC Nice away on Friday.
