The Jacksonville Jaguars have been unwilling to trade WR Brian Thomas Jr. up to this point. But could that change before the Nov. 10 trade deadline?
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, "Multiple league execs believe Jacksonville will seriously consider trading Brian Thomas Jr. at the deadline now that his role has decreased."
Trade rumors around Thomas Jr. began swirling last season, but at every opportunity, the Jaguars' organization has said that they don't plan on dealing him.
However, with Thomas Jr.'s decreasing role, now more than ever, a trade does seem like a possibility.
As the season has gone along, Thomas Jr.'s workload and opportunities have decreased. In the most recent game against Houston, he played just 15 total snaps, including none in the second half.
On the season, he has nine receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown, with no catches in the last two games.
It appears that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find a steady role for Thomas Jr. in Liam Coen's offense. Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers lead the way at wideout for the Jaguars, while Josh Cameron has steadily earned more opportunities, and it looks like Travis Hunter could as well. The Jaguars ' use of two- and three-tight-end sets doesn't help his case either.
While the Jaguars' messaging around Thomas Jr.'s availability has been clear and consistent, things can change quickly in the NFL.
