As Willow Nightingale has climbed through the AEW ranks, winning the TBS and AEW Women's World Championships along the way, she's made it no secret that she's held WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley as an inspiration, even calling her fellow Long Islander her all-time favorite wrestler. The two now find themselves as co-workers in AEW, which has given Foley the opportunity to tell Nightingale that he's also been a fan of hers. But as Foley revealed to Nightingale during "The Mick and Kenny Show," it wasn't just Nightingale's ability that made Foley a fan, it was how kind she was to Foley's daughter, Noelle, during her time training to be a wrestler.
"When it was clear that Noelle's body wasn't going to stand up to the, you know, the day in, day out...she [Willow] was so good to my daughter," Foley said. "And I told Noelle, I think I've told you this before, I said 'Noelle, if you have one match, it should be with Willow as a way of thanking her for everything you did.' So for me, to see you get first signed, [I was] extraordinarily happy. And to see the level of success you've had? Incredible."
The bond between Foley and Nightingale has only deepened since they've begun working together in AEW. The "Hardcore Legend" revealed that he had a rare moment of feeling like a fan after he sent Nightingale a message following her All In match with Mercedes Mone, a match Foley feels was a classic.
"I had a mark out moment where after Willow and Mercedes...I congratulated Willow via text," Foley said. "And she says 'Mick, are you still here? I'd like to see you.' And I was like 'She wants to see me?'"
