The Golden State Warriors have signed, drafted, and traded for players from nearly every U.S. state and many countries around the world. From Alaska to Wyoming and Austria to Zaire, the Warriors have a strong history of seeking out talent necessary for NBA success.
Since their beginnings in the Basketball Association of America (a precursor to the NBA) when they got their start as the team representing Philadelphia before they made their move to the West Coast, the organization has consistently pursued talent from a broad range of sources.
For this installment of our series taking stock of the birthplace of every Golden State player to suit up for the franchise, let's take a look at every player from Arizona who has played for the Warriors.
Our focus in this article is Perry Moss. An alum of Northeastern University, he was picked up with the 69th overall selection of the 1982 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.
The Tucson, Arizona native played the first 3 seasons of his pro career in other leagues before he signed with the (then) Washington Bullets (now, Wizards) in 1985. He also played for the Philadelphia 76ers before he signed with the Golden State Warriors for the final season of his career in 1986.
During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Moss put up 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.
