Manchester United are among the clubs keen to sign former Barcelona striker Vitor Roque, whose agent has confirmed has a few clubs following him.
United have scored only 10 goals in their first nine Premier League games of the season. The woeful form has left them within the drop zone.
There are a few areas of the Red Devils squad which could do with improvement, and the final third is one of them.
United have begun to compile a list of possible striker signings, and it appears former Barcelona man Roque is on there.
Bolavip reports United, as well as Everton, Chelsea and Tottenham, are in contact with his representatives to assess whether a move would be possible in 2027.
Further to that, Roque’s agent, Andre Cury, has confirmed interest across Europe.
He said: “There are many clubs in Europe interested in Vitor.”
As a result, it’s believed there could be a battle for the 21-year-old’s services, and the report states it’ll cost at least €50million (£42m) to win it.
United had more options on their striker shortlist of late, but a few of them have dropped off. They were looking to assess whether Leeds’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be a viable addition, but the relationship with the Whites was going to make that tough.
Further to that, it’s believed the England international is preparing to pen a new deal at Elland Road.
Elsewhere, it had been confirmed by our friends at TEAMtalk that Monaco’s Folarin Balogun had been offered to United, among other clubs.
However, Troy Deeney has told both parties to avoid that transfer.
He said: “No, no, no, not good for Man Utd, not good for Flo Balogun himself.
“It just doesn’t work. Man Utd haven’t given you a record in the last decade of a striker who has gone in and done well. They don’t give you the support mechanism for that.
“I actually thought the move to Everton made sense. What I mean by that is that Everton create good moments; if you see [Thierno] Barry at the moment, he doesn’t give himself the best chance; he misses a lot.
“Balogun was in a wonderful vein of form at the start of the season, came off a wonderful World Cup, scored a lot in the Champions League, I think the Man United project would set him back.”
